this is an absolutely amazing instrument. i have a fairly analytical mind and so the patterns appeal to me. i bought an axis 64 less than a year ago, at this point i could not play any instrument and knew little of music. the ability to analyze a chord or phrase just by looking at the patterns is what impresses me most, when i learn music theory, in my head Im visualizing the shapes on the axis. i would not say im gifted musically but with the axis 64 i have learned very fast, i can play a number of jazz, funk, and classical pieces as well as improvise comfortably. my improvising skill are what have grown the fastest, as any phrase i learn i can play in any key and manipulate with ease. as i learn more about music i expect i will only appreciate this keyboard more
